Listen, I always preferred 'the completely new' over 'the remake/reboot', especially in an era where the majority of our viewed content (TV, Movies, games) are regurgitated and fed back to us in some form. Disney has been the biggest culprits of this recently as they continue to scrape the bottom of the barrel of their animated library to transform them into live-action money-making machines (So far this year we got an Aladdin, Lion King and Dumbo live-action movie). But goddammit! They got me too! Thanks to the recent news that one of my most beloved cartoon series, The Proud Family is coming back!

The second coming of 'Gaming Christmas' after E3, Gamescom, is set to begin tomorrow. However, for us lucky gamers who could not wait, we got a special Gamescom live event a day earlier that gave us a ton of information on some big games as well as numerous surprise reveals. We even got a Google Stadia live conference as well as a special Nintendo Indie showcase. In the end, I picked out a few tidbits that I believe were the highlights from day zero.
When Pokemon Sword & Shield was first revealed, I laid down a challenge to Game Freak (the game's developers) to take of advantage of the Nintendo Switch resources and launch a game that is much more than just 'Pokemon HD'. Since then they have been ticking off more and more of the list with each passing new trailer. Their latest gave me a look at the game's new online as well as new gameplay tweaks and, I am about 80% happy with what I am seeing so far.
Netflix recently nabbed an anime of the year award thanks to their original produced anime, DEVILMAN CRYBABY and are now looking to possibly repeat the trick with their new series, Cannon Busters. The show launched on the platform today, and Netflix celebrated with the release of a new trailer.
When examining the Angry Birds brand today, it is easy to forget just how far the franchise had come. It is incredible to think about its small humble beginnings as a mobile game to its meteoric rise as a mega pop-cultural powerhouse, it is today. The term 'Angry Birds' is so deeply rooted in modern society that even your grandparents probably know what it is about. The brand officially established itself in pop culture with the Angry Birds animated movie that actually surprises many with its quality. So much so that we are now only a few short days away from a sequel but, is it a surprise hit like the first? Here's the review roundup:
With the success of Detective Pikachu at the box office and two new games on the way, the Pokemon Brand appears to be at its highest peak in years. Now the Pokemon Company are looking to keep the money train going with the release of their latest CG animated movie, Pokemon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back-Evolution in Japan. The problem, however, early reviews from this side of the Pacific aren't looking too hot.
